Anderson with 25 man squad problem

The new 25 man Premier League squad rule poses a problem for Sir Alex Ferguson where Anderson is concerned.

The £18 million youngster is currently recovering from a cruciate ligament injury and might not be back until the end of September. The new rules dictate that every Premier League club has to submit a list of their final 25 man squad by the 1st of September. Both Anderson and teammate Owen Hargreaves could be left out of the squad because of this new rule.

Ferguson won’t want to include any players with long-term injuries if they are unlikely to play. Although Anderson has a return date set of late September, it could take time for him to recover his form and fitness. Last season he suffered with confidence problems and had very inconsistent form in between a few injuries. If you are interested in Premier League betting, you might want to make a few bets on Anderson.

The 25 man squad can be revised in January and any players that have recovered from injury or have subsequently been injured can be swapped around. It might be a gamble to put Anderson in the squad, but Sir Alex has until the end of August to decide whether it will be a benefit in having him there.

Anderson fighting to prove his worth at United

Anderson has been without first team football for a while now. He has lost the confidence of Alex Ferguson who is preferring Fletcher and Carrick in midfield at the moment. He has been selected to play in the reserves to try and get back his form and push his way into back into the senior squad.

Anderson is still on 21 and has a lot to learn. He has been at the club for 2 years now and will soon have to start showing his worth to Ferguson. The same situation happened with his teammate Nani, who joined the club at the same time. Nani has recently been in excellent form and had impressed until his red card in the recent game against Aston Villa.

Anderson will hope his chances at United will improve as he will have an eye on the Brazilian World Cup squad for the summer. Many people who are interested in football betting will be also be watching out for which players make the squads.

Let’s wait and see if Anderson regains his confidence that lead Alex Ferguson to splash out £18 million for him at just 18 years of age.

Anderson still loving United

Anderson has now started his third season at Manchester United and insits he is still loving it despite not being a firm starting IV regular.

He is still learning and his form is getting better. He scored his first Premiership goal against Spurs in September which shows that he is gaining confidence.

Ryan Giggs scored his 150th goal for Manchester United at the end of September against Wolfsburg in their Champions League outing. The goal wasn’t that impressive because it was a deflection. What stood out was Anderson’s unusual tactics.

Anderson stood facing the goalkeeper and pulled faces to try and put him off. Whether the goalkeeper was fazed or not, the goal went in, so he will put it down as a success.

Can we call this an assist to the goal…no I don’t think so.

Anderson gets his first United goal!

After 75 appearances for Machester United, Brazillian Anderson has finally scored in open play, albeit during a friendly. United on their pre-season tour came up against Boca Juniors tonight and the jet-lag from their overnight flight from China proved its toll, although they still came out with a 2-1 win.

Anderson scored after 23 minutes from a curling left foot free kick which would otherwise have been taken by the now departed £80 million Ronaldo.

United will be looking for goals from all over the team next season to replace the loss from Ronaldo, and if Anderson could score a few more that would be great. He’s got his tally going now, so lets hope for more soon!

United’s second goal of the night came from new £17m signing Antonio Valencia, which would have been a proud moment for him.

Anderson Unlucky at United

Anderson is maturing nicely as a Manchester United player. He has put in some important performances and played some vital roles in winning games, but in his second season at the club the 21 year old has still not scored a goal. So far he has played in over 70 games and the nearest he has come is hitting the post. He has had a fair few near misses, but the luck has just not come for him to score a goal.

He has made some good assists and of course has scored in penalty shoot-outs. But not in open-play. He has a big career ahead of him though and I’m sure one (or 5) will one soon!

Anderson maturing as a player

In his second season Brazilian Anderson is really maturing as a player. He has not yet scored a goal for the club, but this could be due to his new role. United often play with a lot of forwards – the two strikers and two very attacking wingers. This leaves the team very exposed if the central players attack as well. Anderson’s new role has found him playing more defensive duties along with Carrick or Scholes.

Get free bets and guess when Anderson will score his first goal. There are good odds for most games he plays in because he hasn’t scored yet.

Although he hasn’t got any goals yet, Anderson has had a few world class assists. His latest was in the 2-2 Champion’s League draw with Aalborg when he set up Wayne Rooney to score the equalizer.

Anderson Beginning to shine at United

Carlos Queiroz was delighted with the performance of Anderson in their 4-0 victory over Wigan on Saturday. And he shone again in the 4-2 Champions league victory over Dynamo Kiev on wednesday.

Manchester United’s senior players have already pulled Anderson aside to drum into him the dangers of his hectic social life.

There was talk about him being loaned back to a Portuguese side to continue his development, but it looks like he is finally settling in. Much of the early poor displays had their reason though. He was carrying an injury and had just played in the Copa America over the summer.

Lets hope he continues to develop into a fine young player.
