Anderson Hopes to Lift Fiorentina
Anderson is set to feature in midfield for Fiorentina once again tomorrow when his side faces Inter Milan at home.
The Brazilian made his debut for the Italian club in a 3-3 draw again Genoa on January 26. He replaced hat-trick hero Alberto Aquilani in the 74th minute of the tie at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. That was his first taste of competitive league football since December.
A week later, he was in the starting line up in the 1-0 defeat away to Cagliari. He lasted 55 minutes of that game before going off for Spaniard Borja Valero in the live football commentary.
Anderson is on loan at Fiorentina until the end of a season after agreeing terms on January 18. He is expected to make the move permanent in the summer for a fee.
The 25-year old signed for Manchester United in May 2007 for £20 million. He was a key member of Porto’s midfield before his transfer and was regarded at the time as one of the most talented younger player in Europe.
Since David Moyes took over at Old Trafford, he not featured much for the reds, apart from a few cup games.
Fiorentina go into the tie against Inter tomorrow evening on the back of a Coppa Italia victory over Udinese on Tuesday evening. They were able to overcome a one goal deficit from the first leg to progress into the final 3-2.
Viola are fourth in Serie A at the moment, three points Napoli who sit in third place. If they can pick up the win against the Milan based side this weekend, they will be 11 points clear of the 18-time Championship winners. Bet365 make them 11/10 favourite in the football betting, the draw is 12/5 and Inter are available at 12/5.
