Anderson back in Brazil

After a turbulent 8 years at Manchester United, Anderson returned to Brazil in February in a bid to revive his career.

Now 27, Anderson has endured a turbulent time at United, experiencing several injuries and a tough time keeping his weight down. He never reached his true potential which was once described as being “better than Wayne Rooney” by Sir Alex Ferguson’s brother.

Now what’s next for Anderson?

He’s now playing for Sport Club Internacional, a Brazilian club in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. You may remember Dida the famous goalkeeper from AC Milan…well he’s also at the same club.

Anderson’s start at Internacional hasn’t been a smooth ride though either.

– In his first game he missed a penalty.
– In a cup game he required an oxygen mask due to altitude sickness.
– Then in April he was sent off.

So let’s call this the unlucky three. It’s best to get your mistakes out of the way, right Anderson? Maybe being home in Brazil with the sunshine and warm weather will get you back on track. Manchester isn’t the best place to satisfy a Brazilian’s love (need?) for sun anyway.

Brazil are still at the start of their season, so Anderson has yet to prove himself at Internacional. They currently sit 13th in the 20 team table, with a draw win and loss – one of each. Let’s hope Anderson’s homecoming can make a difference and that he can find some form on home turf!
